ACT for Eco-Anxiety: Acceptance & Action When the World’s Falling Apart

Join Dr. Devin Guthrie for this live virtual event on April 28th as they discuss utilizing ACT for Eco-Anxiety.

Politically, economically, & ecologically, our world is in crisis, & the distress the crisis provokes can be overwhelming. How do we work with people’s anxiety about very real threats when we are all too often drowning in the same fear? ACT offers an answer: We face extreme uncertainty with radical acceptance & perceived powerlessness with recommitment to values that matter even in the face of existential threats.

Drawing on their experience in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, existential psychology, ecological activism, & end-of-life care, Dr. Devin Guthrie designed this experiential workshop for working with the anxiety & overwhelm associated with polycrisis. Participants will learn to dive into the mess with their clients (without drowning), identify the values underlying fear & grief, & transform disempowering stories into experiential appreciation & valued action.
