Events Committee
NYC ACBS is a growing community of specialists from diverse backgrounds. To address these diverse needs, we collaborate with leaders in the field of ACBS and organize professional development events including workshops, training, and seminars. We also organize community building events including nature hikes, BBQs, and evening socials. Are you interested in getting involved and shaping how this community develops and advances? If so, consider getting involved with the NYC ACBS Events Committee. We are open to collaboration and are motivated to support the vision and endeavors of our members. If you are a certified professional or instructor (i.e., yoga teacher, art therapist, movie/film buff, etc.), we can explore ways to bring your passion to NYC ACBS. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 12 PM. We welcome further engagement with our community!

DEI Committee
NYC ACBS is committed to the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organization. Each month, our DEI Committee meets to discuss important aspects of diversity and systemic factors relative to ACT and our community. We create policies, sponsor workshops, and monitor our organizational processes. Our virtual meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 9 am.
Our past actions include:
Promoting speakers, presentations, workshops, and discussions on DEI-related issues, like ACT for addressing trauma in African Americans and exploring identity and oppression from an ACT perspective
Creating a reflection questions for presenters to consider how they're work relates to DEI-related issues
Developing meeting processes to ensure that all voices are expressed and heard
Improving accessibility for workshops
